Road to Recovery

We are on the road to recovery, people!  And boy does it feel good!
Carson turned a corner this weekend, and is really starting to get back to himself.  And let me tell you how much we love that!  He is active.  Has an appetite.  Is into everything.  Squealing, and giggling.  And is very playful and happy.  The monster is back in the house :)

He is now done with the oral steroids.  But, we are still giving him the nebulizer treatments, as he still has a cough that is lingering.  And, he is not a huge fan of the treatments....

The weekend was filled with family fun, and we all had a good time hanging out with each other.
Carson has a few new favorites these days.  The oven mitt.  And, the swiffer sweeper.  I do wonder some days why he has so many toys.  He would much rather play with something in the cupboard, or kitchen drawer!

I think swiffering with no pants on is much more effective :)

Here is a video of Carson swiffering.

And another of him with the swiffer.  He enjoys chasing Tucker with it!

Carson sure does love the oven mitt, too!  I don't really know why, but I think he enjoys being able to put it on, and take it off all by himself.

And, check out the video of Carson with the oven mitt.

Carson still enjoys his mower.  Daddy usually complains of getting a headache from it, but what does he know?!  hehe.

Our lil' Hawkeye is looking so stinkin' cute in his hat, and jersey!  Dad was awfully proud, as he dressed him in the gear.

Carson finally has an appetite back, and is always wanting to be in his chair to snack.  I think I need to stock up on goldfish, crackers, and cereal bars again!

Carson and Daddy spent the day together, and they had so much fun...as usual.  Carl decided to make Carson roman noodles for lunch.....and, Carson loved them!  He ate the whole package to himself.  Way to go, buddy.

Oh, and Carson still enjoys playing peek-a-boo.....all the time!  It is the cutest thing ever....you really can't resist but to play along.

Carson is really getting the hang of our nightly routine of bath time, and brushing his teeth.  After he gets out of the bath, he always reaches for his toothbrush.  And, of course he mocks my every move, so now he has to be the one to rinse off his toothbrush.

He hasn't really enjoyed bath time the last few times he has taken one, but tonight was a different story.  I don't know if it was because he was sick, or what his problem was.  But, tonight he spent forever in the tub, and had a lot of fun.

And, he likes to eat the letters.  A lot of them have teeth marks all over them.  Tonight, the letter "D" got the punishment of his jaw clenching bite.

Here is some proof that our monster, who is into everything, is back in the house.  But, we love the little goof ball.....as he really livens up the household.  He keeps us on our toes, but we wouldn't have it any other way!

Carl and I really do exist.  I promise.  Oh how I miss this man during the evening hours, but I really enjoy his company during the weekends!

I will end with this precious picture.  Carson fell asleep in his "baby" swing last night, and he is sleeping in it right now.  It has been stored away for about the last year or so, but we brought it out this weekend for a friends' baby to use at our house.  And, Carson climbed right in, and made himself at home.  So, we turned it on, and let him swing.  He just hung out, and eventually zonked out.  It makes my heart melt every time.  It reminds me of when he was a baby.  He is such a sweetheart.

I think Carson is almost back to 100%, and that makes me so happy.  I love to see him have fun, giggle, and play.  I really missed that from him last week, and I hate to see him sick.  But, our prayers have been answered, and he is bouncing back quickly.  We have a tough little guy on our hands, that we love dearly!

  1. I hope he didn't pick the "D" to eat/attack in the bath tub because of Di-Di?
