Wee Lad

Wee Lad is a Mommy's Boy by night, and a Daddy's boy by day/weekends.  Boy does his face light up when he sees his Daddy, and that just makes my heart melt.  I love it.  The squeal and smile is a mutual thing between the two of them.  They are both always so excited to see each other, as their time together isn't much.

Carl and Carson have so much fun together.  I love when we are home on the weekends, and I get to witness their special bond they have first hand.  It is definitely a highlight of my weekend.  They wrestle, and play ball, and read books, and chase after each other, while Carson is giggling, and can hardly catch his breath.  And that noise?  That is music to this Mama's ears.

To say that we are counting down the days until an extended, three day weekend, might be a bit of an understatement.  We are all so excited.  The weekends always seem to go way too fast, so I am looking forward to the extra day with my two boys.

I get to see this little smirk for three days straight.  Ahhh, yes!  Consider me completely ecstatic.

Outdoor Fun

Carson and I enjoyed a wonderful evening outside tonight.  We had a lot of fun, as the weather was gorgeous.

Carson really enjoys the swing.....

.......his Police car

And, he also really enjoys the slide in our backyard.  He gets all excited in anticipation for a fast ride down, which results in a butt landing every time.  He giggles, and does it all over again.

The weather sounds like it is going to be perfect outdoor weather all week!  After the soggy weekend, that is wonderful news to hear.  I foresee a lot of nights being spent outside with the Wee Lad.

In weekend news........

Carson has sooo many facial expressions.  He is always making us laugh with the different faces he makes.  His latest is this.  Such a character!

Carson is also obsessed with mocking his Daddy's every move.  It is crazy, because he literally will do anything, and everything Carl does.  Carson can now open the doors around the house.  Carl and I have come to the conclusion that handles may not have been our best purchase....we probably should have gone with knobs!  So, Carson can now get into the bathroom, even when we shut the door after ourselves.  The other morning Carson helped himself into the bathroom while Carl was showering, and was continuously flushing the toilet, as Carl was yelling because his feet were burning from the water getting so hot from the toilet flushing!  Oh gosh, I was laughing so hard.  Carson watched Carl flush the toilet, so he had to do it too!  I bet Carl locks the door after himself from now on!  hehe.  And, Carl also scratches his head a lot.  So, what does Carson do?  He has to scratch his head, too!  It is too funny to watch him do this.  He gets his one little finger out, and starts scratching his head.

Another thing Carson likes to mock is how we wipe Tucker's paws with the rag.  He used to grab the rag, and wipe his back off.  But now, he gets serious.  He will take the rag, and wipe off every single paw, just like we do.  We just watch in amazement, as he does it very diligently.

(I think that Tucker looks mad in this picture...like he is giving me "the look."  I am pretty sure he dreads Carson's every move.  I am telling you....he is very tolerable!  ha.)

I will leave you with this picture.  What a cheeseball!  Such a cutie.  Oh how our dearest Wee Lad is growing up so quickly.  And, we are loving every minute!

Happy Monday!

Farm Boy

Carson and I visited Grandpa Mike just recently, and Carson got a little taste of the country life.  He was really shy, and timid at first, which doesn't surprise me.  But, after a while, he eventually warmed up to the surroundings, and started to explore.

I tried to take him into the tractor right when we got there, and he cried.  He didn't want to be anywhere near that big thing.  But, after a while, he finally decided that all those buttons inside the tractor cab were worth exploring.  Grandpa and Carson took off for a little ride.  They didn't go far, as I think Carson finally grasped onto the idea that they were driving away from Mom, but I think he had fun.

And, I don't think that a trip to Grandpa Mike's would be complete without a little dessert.  Grandpa always seems to have some sort of chocolate or candy around.  Carson found some oreos in Grandpa's truck, and dove right in.

It was a fun little field trip that we took, and hopefully we will be able to go back again soon.  Maybe the next time we go for a tractor ride, he will hop right in, and take off.  We will see.  Our little guy keeps us guessing all the time!

Mother's Day

We had an amazing weekend at home....all 3 of us!  The weather was beautiful, and we savored the great outdoors.  Carson got some play time on his 4-wheeler, and was running into just about everything outside.  From the fence, to trees, to the deck---he was all over the place!  Carson really enjoys being outside, and we love to be out there with him.

...........he really gets into his driving, and is very dramatic about it!  haha.

I think little guys with baggy shorts, with their bellies exposed, is just too cute for words!

........he likes to undress himself these days.  After the shorts, comes the diaper.  And so it begins! ha.

.............and the drool is back in full force!  We go through numerous shirts a day.

Mother's Day was wonderful this year.  I spent the entire day, from 5:00AM to bed time, with both of my boys.  And, it was such an enjoyable day.  I absolutely love family time with our little family, and we always have so much fun together.

I woke up to the most adorable little face, who dishes out hugs and kisses....which are completely to die for.  And, the best music to a Mama's ears....Carl and Carson giggling in bed together, making each other laugh, and just enjoying a beautiful morning.

My day started out with breakfast that my amazing hubby made.  Scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, hashbrowns, and a glass of Simply Orange.  Yum!

And, a handmade card from Carson.  It is so cute, and I love it so much.  Carl had Carson make the card....with markers.  He later admitted that markers may not have been his smartest decision.  Carson was covered in marker.  The green marker added to his cute little pudgy fingers, and made them extra cute and colorful.

For lunch, we went out to G&G Brouwer's house to spend time with Grandma Brouwer, and wish her a Happy Mother's Day.

Carson helped me make a cake to bring to Frannie's house for dessert.  He was a great help.  Well, kinda.  Everyone seemed to enjoy it.....with or without the drool that may have landed in the bowl!  HA. :)

We headed to Frannie's house for supper, to wish her a Happy Mother's Day.  She is an amazing lady in our lives, and is such a wonderful Mother, and Frannie.  We spent some time together with family, and just hung out.  By the end of the day, I think we were all completetly stuffed.  But, that is one of the many joys that comes from holidays, or family get togethers.  Good Food.  Good Company.

By the end of the day, I think our little family was exhausted.  We were ready to head home, and start our nightly bedtime routine.  And, the best part?  Daddy was around to share the night time activities with us!

This little guy is the reason why I get to celebrate Mother's Day.  I am completely in love.  He is so special to me.  Mother's Day 2011 was a wonderful day.  Any time with family is amazing, and we cherish those moments dearly.

These are a few pictures from today.....compliments to Daddy.  They spent the day together, and I hear they had so much fun, and had a great day.

Carson and Tucker are still good buddies.  Or, whatever you want to call it.  Tucker is very tolerable, let's just say that :)

Check out those toofers!  He doesn't show them very often, so I am always shocked to see how big they really are.

Our little guy is growing up so quickly!  Too quickly, really.  Happy Monday.
