Weston is ONE Month Old

As of May 27, Weston hit the one month marker in his life.  This post is actually kind of difficult for me to write at the moment.  I guess I am just trying to figure out how this is even possible?

Weston has been so much fun to have around. We are all so completely in love with this little soul.  He brings so much joy to our family, and we are all in awe of him.
Carson, in particular, is giving me a run for my money in the kissing department with Weston.  This Big Brother of Weston's loves to kiss on him, and has no idea what the words "personal space" mean.  And if he does, he doesn't implement it in everyday living, that's for sure.  Ha.  But, I will not complain.  The sight of Carson loving on his Brother makes my heart melt.  Listening to Carson talk to Weston is to die for.  And watching these two boys interact with each other makes me smile.  It is so funny to hear Carson try and get Weston's attention.  The way he says his name makes me laugh, because it sounds so much like when we are talking to him.  "Weeeeesstoon."  Too cute.  And, it usually sounds like "Weton" coming from Carson's mouth, which makes it that much more precious.
Weston loves it when people talk to him, and he is now flashing us some killer smiles when we are speaking to him.  He is such a sweet baby.

I have a scrapbook for Carson from he was little, and answered questions each month about him.  So, I am going to try and answer the same questions about Weston, as a fun documentation of the two boys.
    -Weight: About 10-11 Pounds
-How much is he eating now: Weston is our little porker.  He is eating 3 ounces about every 2 hours.  Yes, you read that right.  Every TWO hours.  Sometimes, I feel like that is all I do all day long, is feed him.  Ha.
-How long does he sleep at night:  Weston is up about every 2 hours.  He will sometimes make it 3 hours in between feedings.  I am really hoping he starts to sleep better and longer soon.  This Mama is getting a bit tired these days, especially since Daddy works 3rd shift, so that means I fly solo during the night hours.
-What size of clothes is he in:  This week has been kind of tough for me, as I think we are going to be saying good bye to his newborn clothes!  We are going to be going through the lovely "in between" stage, as the 3 months clothes are still too big for the little guy.  But, we sure do have a growing little boy on our hands.
-Facial Expressions:  Weston is full of them!  Carl and I think he has a certain "look" when Carson is in his face (and stealing all of his oxygen.  Seriously, that is how close Carson gets to him!) and it's kind of funny.  He wants to smile, because someone is talking to him, and then realizes who it is, and gets a rather frightened look. :)  Lately he has really started to smile a lot, and it is so much fun!

-Learned anything new this month:  Smile!  And, he has mastered it.  It is the sweetest smile, and I love to see it.
-Is Weston a good traveler:  Weston is a good traveler, for the most part.  He is our little "mover" and loves when we are moving in the car, and isn't a fan when we are stopped.  Take a stop light or stop sign, for example.  If we are stopped at either one, he will most times start to cry.  And once we start moving again, he is silent.  He really likes to keep moving!
-Did Weston celebrate any holidays this past month:  In his short little life, he got to enjoy the festivities of Mother's Day!  That's a big holiday in my eyes.

-Recognize anyone new: We can tell that Weston knows when we are talking to him, and can recognize our voices.  It is so much fun to see him develop a little more every day.

-Anything else: Weston is a very strong little boy.  He can hold his head up like a Champ, and will stand with his legs for a few seconds at a time.  Carl and I love to see him look around the room, and take it all in.
Weston loves his baths, now that he is in the "big boy" tub.  He didn't care for the sponge bath, but he loves to be submerged in water.
He hates to be naked, and loves to be swaddled, and snuggled up in blankets.  He is a huge snuggler....and I love that feature about him!  Carson was a big snuggler as a baby, and still is at the age of 2-1/2.  We have 2 very sweet, snuggly boys, and we are so in love.

This would be a picture of Weston after I peeled his big brother from his face.  He has a bit of a frightened look on his face.....

............And then Carson got too close, for too long.  Or tried to "kiss" him as referred to by Carson, which by the way, is actually head butting in everyone else's world!  I will also note that Weston has a very good set of lungs on him.  Other people have also commented that to me.  Ha.

Happy ONE Month Birthday to our littlest Wee Lad.  We love you dearly!

  1. Great pictures-and great dialogue; I feel like I know your little guys very well from the descriptions you have given. And the best part about loving your little Wee Lads is that it lasts forever! You just can't beat that!!
