Baby Shower

On Friday night, we had a shower for my sister, the soon-to-be Mother.  It was grand, and I loved how it turned out.

The turn out was fabulous, the details were great, the soon-to-be Mama was happy, and she was showered with some amazing gifts.  All of which will help with the princess who is scheduled to arrive in a few short weeks.

I love how the pretty desserts filled the table.  It was a nice display, and I was very pleased with how it turned out!

We played a fun crossword puzzle, laughed, had desserts, exchanged great conversations, and had a lot of fun.  All in all, I think the evening turned out wonderful.

I am technically an Aunt already, but not through my family.  So, I am more than ecstatic to hold, and bond with this little bundle of joy, that I will offer the title of niece.  She has some amazing parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members who are oh so eager to meet her.

Children are truly amazing.  I am learning this more and more every day.  Each and every day, I fall in love with our son all over again.  Along with my husband, as he is the amazing Father of our child.  The Lord is amazing in that way.  The parents-to-be are weeks away from this new found love, and I am so excited for them.  The love for a child is something that I can not put into words.

I am learning, and trying to implement "Every day is a gift, make it count."  That kind of flows into...."do what makes YOU happy."  Don't worry about what makes other people happy, worry about yourself.  This thought runs through my head numerous times throughout the day.  It is so true.  Cherish every moment, and be happy with what you have.  Yes, we all have our bad days, bad moods, but tomorrow is always a new day.  A new day to learn something new, do something special, make a memory with a loved one, or spend an extra 10 minutes with a child.
Lately, I look at our Wee Lad, and I am just overwhelmed with happiness.  It brings tears to my eyes, of how pleased I am with the little boy he is becoming.  How can I not be happy?  I have so many things to be thankful for.  And, even during my bad days, I am still overflowing with so many blessings.

I have a different outlook on life, after becoming a parent.  Children are so innocent, and special.  Looking at the world, through my son's eyes, is an amazing view.  So carefree, and happy.  It's a view that I hope I never overlook, or go beyond.  He may not know it, but Carson is teaching us so much about our everyday living, it is truly amazing.

Congrats to my sister, and brother-in-law on their little girl.  She will be perfect in every way.  I am so excited to meet her!

  1. What a beautiful event you guys staged for the "Sweet Pea". Sounds fun. And, may I say, your enthusiasm for life is quite infectious-and your ability to put that love and excitement you have to pen and paper is a gift. Consider a writing course to expand on your talent.
