Carson and I have so much fun on Fridays when we are both together. There are some days when our schedule is jammed pack, and we are on the run all day, and then others---when we are home all day. We both enjoy either kind of day. Last Friday was the stay-at-home kind of day. We hung out most of the day, went to the park, and just soaked each other up. Carson was busy, all day. He was busy with.......
....taking clothes out of his dresser.
....reading books (he has an eye for Dr. Seuss books. Seriously...he can spot one even when his room floor is chuck full of 100 other books. He will always choose a Dr. Seuss one)
....riding his giraffe bike
....being super happy, and full of energy
....and taking the flaps off of his diapers. Which, wouldn't be so bad, until he rips the flap off, which results in us unable to use the diaper all together.
This little bundle of all boy is pure joy these days. He is starting to develop quite the personality, which is combined with an attitude. And, he is starting to bite. Like, a lot. We are working on all of the above. But, he is still as sweet as can be.
Happy Monday!

Giddy Up
On Tuesday night, we spent the evening with my family, to celebrate an Anniversary for two amazing people. My parents.
While at Grandpa and Frannie's house.....Carson got a gift! Reading that sentence doesn't really make sense, because HE should be gifting THEM, but if you know Frannie, you wouldn't be surprised by that.
Frannie stopped by the Amish folks last weekend, and picked Carson up his very own horsey! How cool is that? It is so neat, and he loves it! It is really big, and he is really fascinated with it. I am going to bet that he wont ever outgrow it. Literally. Hehe :)
Giddy up, our handsome little Cowboy!

Summer Nights
Carson and I are soaking up every last bit of Summer time activities that we possibly can. On Monday night, we had some fun at the pool. It is a fun evening activity that we both enjoy. The pool isn't packed with people, the sky is gorgeous, it isn't blazing hot outside, and we splash and have a fun time.
Little side note......our Wee Lad loves bugs. He will chase them around forever. And, it doesn't matter what kind of bug it is......spider, ant, beetle, bee---he will try and pick it up. Eww.
It is really starting to hit me hard that Summer is coming to a screeching halt soon. And, I really don't think I am ready for it. I am enjoying the warm Summer days, pool time, ice cream dates, and fun outdoor activities. Granted, the outdoor activities may be even more fun in the Autumn, and Fall....when we aren't sweating bullets the whole time, but I'm not ready for the heat to leave.
My ultimate favorite season of the year is by far Fall. I love everything about it. The colors, scents, activities, weather, apparel...everything. So, with that being said, I haven't ever been much of a 'heat', and 'Summer' lover. Until, I had a child! The look on Carson's face at the pool, is priceless. His rosy cheeks at the park, indicating he is having so much fun running around, warms my heart. And, not having to put on jackets, socks, shoes, and hats......is lovely!
So, we are savoring all that is Summer. I hope the heat sticks around at least through August, so we can enjoy as much time outside, and at the pool as possible. Easy grilled meals, with sweet corn. And more fresh fruit, and park dates.
We are getting pretty accustomed to this busy life style together. Carson is always along for the ride. He gets drug everywhere that I go, and he has no complaints. And for that, I am very thankful! I really enjoy our evenings together, and I am loving this little boy more than ever...if that is even possible.

Sunday Fun-Day
Our Sunday together as a family was a wonderful one.
We started the day out by going to church. We haven't been there in a while, and we were both looking forward to it. And, as it turns out, it was exactly what we needed. It was a wonderful sermon. The passage that I have been re-reading, and have looked at numerous times is this:
Ecclesiastes 5: 10-12
10 Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless. 11 As goods increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit are they to the owners except to feast their eyes on them? 12 The sleep of a laborer is sweet, whether they eat little or much, but as for the rich, their abundance permits them no sleep.
During the service, Carl and I looked at each other, and were both thinking the same thing. These verses were up on the screen, for everyone to read, and read again, and re-read. We stared at them for a while, and then turned to each other, and both said...."How true, and eye opening......really"...
We decided to take Carson to the nursery, and give it another try this week. We would like Carson to get acquainted with these new surroundings, and it be a place he looks forward to every week. Not to mention, make new friends. So, we checked him in, and brought him to his room. He was not happy about the situation, but we followed through, and left him behind, as he was crying. We could hear his cry, in the distance, as we were walking into the service.
The service began, and so did the songs. The wonderful time of worship, that we all enjoy so much. We made it through the worshiping part of the service, and I thought we were good to go. About 10 minutes in, our number flashed up on the screen. I made a quick exit, and made my way to Carson's classroom. He was sitting in a chair, whimpering, and trying his best to hold back a full out cry. I came to the rescue, and he was very excited to see me. I got him settled down, and we went and joined Daddy. He was really good during the service, so I was happy to see that, but I would still like for him to enjoy the nursery, and get familiar with it. But, we are making progress, as the nursery directed said----because he made it longer than the last time we brought him! She encourages us to continue to try, and I think we will. Hopefully he will get the hang of it soon, and won't be scared.
After church, we were off to a picnic date. We stopped at Subway, and grabbed everyone a sandwich, and we were picnic bound. A friend of mine told me about this neat Arboretum, and Botanical Garden that I thought we would go and explore. We found ourselves a picnic table, and had a grand time together. We walked around the beautiful flowers, Carson watered some flowers, checked out the fish in the pond, and played in the sand. It is a lovely little treasured place that we found, that I am sure we will visit again sometime soon. It was a gorgeous day out, but a hot one. We lasted as long as Carson's hot little body allowed, and then packed up. His cheeks were rosy, forehead was sweaty, and his eyes were sleepy. That was our cue to head home.
That afternoon/evening, we headed out to G&G Brouwer's farm, and did some more exploring. Carson loves to check out the different animals, and just run freely. There is a lot of area to roam, and he loves it. The kids chase the chickens, chase each other, scream and giggle in excitement, and usually find an animal or two to hold and pet. This time, it was a fresh batch of baby kittens. They are so darn cute! Carson, of course, pretty much ripped their heads off, but he was on Cloud 9 the whole time.
I think our whole family loves Sundays. It is a day that we ALL get to spend together, and we really enjoy that time together. Carson will randomly walk up to Carl or I, and give us a big hug. It is like a re-assuring act of love, that he too---enjoys it when we are all together. That's enough to pretty much make you melt into a giant puddle on the ground. This little one of ours has us wrapped up in complete amazement. He is truly such a sweet little guy. We all can't wait until next Sunday....when we get to do it all over again!
