Mother's Day

Mother's Day this year was extra special for me.  I was now a Mother to TWO little boys, and I had so much to celebrate, and be thankful for.
I refer to the title "Mommy" from two little boys who are my world.  They are both so sweet, and I love them both so much.  I am so very honored to be their Mother.  I thank the Lord every night for choosing me to be their Mom.

We had a very busy Sunday this year celebrating all of the Moms in our life.  My Grandma Sally was home from Indiana to help us celebrate, and it was so much fun to have her around.  We also got to celebrate with the Amazing woman that I call Mom, my Sister, and Sister-in-law.  All of which go by the same title.  Mother.
Our little family skipped church this year, to prep for the brunch that was happening at our house.  We hosted a fun celebration, and had some great food.

A little run down of our grand day.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous, so we got to spend most of our day outside.  Fresh air is a wonderful thing.

Grandma and Mom opened their gifts from us:

We played outside:

Carson gave Natalie a ride in the trailer of his tractor, and she loved it:

We all enjoyed passing the new babies around:

Frannie took a picture with the FOUR grandkids:

Frannie and Great Grandma Sally with the Four kiddos:
After the festivities were done at our house, we made our way to my G&G Sents', where my Aunt Denise got to meet Weston for the first time.

Weston and I went to a graduation open house, while Carl stayed home with Carson so he could nap.  After Carson's nap, we headed to the park.  Carl asked me what I wanted to do that evening, and I chose the park.  I love to watch Carson have fun, and squeal and giggle as an indication he is having a blast.  He truly enjoys himself at the park, so that is where I chose to go.  This would be the perfect ending to an already fabulous day.
Carson and his Daddy have so much fun together at the park.  Carl is so good with him, and is such a great Father.

Carson's smile is contagious.  His giggle is music to my ears.  And the fun that he has is so much fun to watch.

This is our Wee Lad braving the merry-go-round.  Fact for the day:  I HATE merry-go-rounds.  Actually, anything that spins in a circle.  Silly silo at Adventureland?  Count me OUT.

Going down the slide with Dad is the best!

This picture of Carson makes me laugh.  He is going so fast, and just smiles and giggles the whole time!  Our Wee Lad is fearless.

This little guy is so much fun to play with at the park!  Doesn't matter how big or small the slide is, he is up for the challenge.  And usually displays a smile the whole time.

This would be a slide indicated for the big kids.  But of course Carson wanted to go down it.  And, away he went, with a smile the whole time!  No fear.  At all.

Now Daddy's turn!  Haha. :)

Weston really enjoys the park as well, as you can tell.  He is pretty go with the flow, which makes for wonderful trips to the park.

This would be the handsome man that has made me mothering our two great children possible.  A dream come true.

I had such a wonderful Mother's Day this year, and enjoyed myself fully.  I am so thankful for our two wonderful healthy boys.  Thank you, Carson and Weston for making me such a proud Mom.  You are my everything, and I will continue to strive to be the best Mother that I can be to the both of you.

Our Family; Mother's Day 2012.  Such a Wonderful day full of great memories!  Feeling extra blessed, and so thankful this evening.

First "real" bath

Weston is not a huge fan of being naked.  But then again, what baby likes to be cold and naked--right?  So, sponge baths were not all that fun.  He generally screamed for most of it, and was waiting to be snuggled up after his bath.  I couldn't wait to lather him up with lotion, make his skin feel so smooth, and smell all baby delicious like.

At the young age of 2-1/2 weeks, Weston was given his first "real" bath.  The first bath when he was submerged in water, and he loved it.  No crying.  No screaming.  Just pure water fun.

I really hope that him liking his bath is linked to him loving water in general.  Carson loves the pool, and I hope that his little brother follows in his footsteps.  There is a lot of fun to be had with water in this handsome little guy's future!

I love to suds his little body full of soap, snuggle him in his cute little Weston towel, lotion him up good, and dress him.  Bath time is now a lot of fun for everyone involved!

Weston is ONE Month Old

As of May 27, Weston hit the one month marker in his life.  This post is actually kind of difficult for me to write at the moment.  I guess I am just trying to figure out how this is even possible?

Weston has been so much fun to have around. We are all so completely in love with this little soul.  He brings so much joy to our family, and we are all in awe of him.
Carson, in particular, is giving me a run for my money in the kissing department with Weston.  This Big Brother of Weston's loves to kiss on him, and has no idea what the words "personal space" mean.  And if he does, he doesn't implement it in everyday living, that's for sure.  Ha.  But, I will not complain.  The sight of Carson loving on his Brother makes my heart melt.  Listening to Carson talk to Weston is to die for.  And watching these two boys interact with each other makes me smile.  It is so funny to hear Carson try and get Weston's attention.  The way he says his name makes me laugh, because it sounds so much like when we are talking to him.  "Weeeeesstoon."  Too cute.  And, it usually sounds like "Weton" coming from Carson's mouth, which makes it that much more precious.
Weston loves it when people talk to him, and he is now flashing us some killer smiles when we are speaking to him.  He is such a sweet baby.

I have a scrapbook for Carson from he was little, and answered questions each month about him.  So, I am going to try and answer the same questions about Weston, as a fun documentation of the two boys.
    -Weight: About 10-11 Pounds
-How much is he eating now: Weston is our little porker.  He is eating 3 ounces about every 2 hours.  Yes, you read that right.  Every TWO hours.  Sometimes, I feel like that is all I do all day long, is feed him.  Ha.
-How long does he sleep at night:  Weston is up about every 2 hours.  He will sometimes make it 3 hours in between feedings.  I am really hoping he starts to sleep better and longer soon.  This Mama is getting a bit tired these days, especially since Daddy works 3rd shift, so that means I fly solo during the night hours.
-What size of clothes is he in:  This week has been kind of tough for me, as I think we are going to be saying good bye to his newborn clothes!  We are going to be going through the lovely "in between" stage, as the 3 months clothes are still too big for the little guy.  But, we sure do have a growing little boy on our hands.
-Facial Expressions:  Weston is full of them!  Carl and I think he has a certain "look" when Carson is in his face (and stealing all of his oxygen.  Seriously, that is how close Carson gets to him!) and it's kind of funny.  He wants to smile, because someone is talking to him, and then realizes who it is, and gets a rather frightened look. :)  Lately he has really started to smile a lot, and it is so much fun!

-Learned anything new this month:  Smile!  And, he has mastered it.  It is the sweetest smile, and I love to see it.
-Is Weston a good traveler:  Weston is a good traveler, for the most part.  He is our little "mover" and loves when we are moving in the car, and isn't a fan when we are stopped.  Take a stop light or stop sign, for example.  If we are stopped at either one, he will most times start to cry.  And once we start moving again, he is silent.  He really likes to keep moving!
-Did Weston celebrate any holidays this past month:  In his short little life, he got to enjoy the festivities of Mother's Day!  That's a big holiday in my eyes.

-Recognize anyone new: We can tell that Weston knows when we are talking to him, and can recognize our voices.  It is so much fun to see him develop a little more every day.

-Anything else: Weston is a very strong little boy.  He can hold his head up like a Champ, and will stand with his legs for a few seconds at a time.  Carl and I love to see him look around the room, and take it all in.
Weston loves his baths, now that he is in the "big boy" tub.  He didn't care for the sponge bath, but he loves to be submerged in water.
He hates to be naked, and loves to be swaddled, and snuggled up in blankets.  He is a huge snuggler....and I love that feature about him!  Carson was a big snuggler as a baby, and still is at the age of 2-1/2.  We have 2 very sweet, snuggly boys, and we are so in love.

This would be a picture of Weston after I peeled his big brother from his face.  He has a bit of a frightened look on his face.....

............And then Carson got too close, for too long.  Or tried to "kiss" him as referred to by Carson, which by the way, is actually head butting in everyone else's world!  I will also note that Weston has a very good set of lungs on him.  Other people have also commented that to me.  Ha.

Happy ONE Month Birthday to our littlest Wee Lad.  We love you dearly!

Kaylee Jean

My Brother and his Wife Kasey, were expecting their first child, and I can still remember the phone call I got from my Brother saying they were expecting.  I was so excited for them, and couldn't wait to spoil another niece/nephew in the near future.  They were due May 11, and we were due April 27.  That also got me excited.  These two little ones will be so close together in age, and will have so much fun growing up together!

Fast forward 9 months, and I had finally received the text message I had been anticipating for a long time now.  It was from my Brother, and it stated that they were in the hospital, and were getting ready to welcome their precious little GIRL into this world.  I was beyond ecstatic for them.

Things went really smoothly that day, from what I understand.  Kasey is one of the fortunate ones who, when asked how the day went, she responds with "Things went great, I didn't have any pain at all!"  I agree with you if you are thinking that is almost unheard of.  Ha. :)

Kasey went in very early that day, and by the afternoon, they were able to meet their little girl.

Kaylee Jean Sents entered this great big world on May 7th at 3:08 PM, and weighed in at 9 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 21.25 inches long.  She has a full head of dark hair, is perfect in every way, and I instantly fell in love.

Here is the happy little family of THREE!  My Brother now goes by the title "Daddy" and I couldn't be more happy for all of them.  Kaylee is one lucky little girl to have him as her Father.

Proud Dad, and his Baby Girl.

As you know, I don't get much experience in the "girl" department, so I am loving the fact that I have two nieces that I get to spoil now!  We were all so excited to meet this little girl, that we headed to the hospital later that evening to get our first glimpse.  Here she is, 4 hours brand new.  (And I feel the need to note that I was still recovering from having a baby 10 days prior to this picture being taken.  Hence the not so good photo of me.)

The count is now up to 4 little kiddos in our family, and this makes me smile.  The more the merrier if you ask me!  Family get togethers just got that much more fun, and these kids will have a blast growing up together.

Kaylee seems to be doing great, and is adjusting to life really well.  Her parents are completely in love with her, and so are the rest of us.

Welcome to the family, Ms. Kaylee Jean.  You are so very precious to me, and I am honored to be your Aunt.  We all love you so much, Baby Girl!

Weston's First Day at Home

On Monday, April 30th, our hospital stay was over, and we were on our way home.  We were both very eager to get home, and start our time together as a family of 4.

We got home in the early afternoon on Monday, and we jumped right into our busy day.  We had visitors come over to meet Weston, unpacking and putting away to do, and Weston's first bath!  What a big day.

Great Grandpa and Grandma Sents stopped over to meet Weston the day we arrived home.

Mike, Monica, Jared and Cassi also stopped by to meet the precious little Weston.

Weston got his first bath from Frannie.  It is a tradition in our family, and I think it is so neat.  Carson was very concerned about Weston, and wanted to be in on the action as well.  He is very tentative to his little brother, and always wants to know what is going on.

We had some fun gifts that we came home with from the hospital that were displayed throughout our house, making a bold indication that we had a new little one in the family.  It was a constant reminder, which put a smile on my face every time I passed by it all.

I also had a lot of fun with my camera, and taking pictures of the handsome little Weston.  It sure does make taking pictures fun and easy when you have such a cute subject!

The first few days home were a little tough for me. I was rather immobile, and couldn't do all that I wanted to do. I was taking my pain medications very religiously, and around the clock to try and keep my pain under control. I couldn't lift Carson, which was probably the most difficult thing to hold back on. Carl ended up taking 2 weeks off of work, which was so nice! He was around to help with both of the boys, and was around during the evening hours.

I sure do love this little guy!  Welcome home, and welcome to our family, Weston.  You sure do fit right into this family, and you are such a good baby.  We are all so completely in love.
